Starting you own website can be overwhelming, there is a ton of information that you will need to start your own website or blog and wordpress in my opinion is the best platform to use. I created my own website a few years ago with no guidance what so ever, it was a lot of studying and research to get everything set up. I had no knowledge of how to make a website when I started out, it was all guess work and dumb luck for me but I did accomplish my goal. This ebook is very informative about the process you go through to create a blog or website on wordpress, it walks you through each step with some very important information that you will need. I will be honest, I wish that I had this ebook when I first started making my first website. I really had no clue what I was in for, the step-by-step guide is a great start for beginners, if you are interested in making a blog or website I highly recommend getting this book.

There are some things that are left out of this ebook that is important to creating a wordpress blog or website, for example it does not talk about the need to compress your images or how to do it. There is a pretty simple reason for this, not everyone knows everything about the process of creating a wordpress website and the process continues to change every year. This ebook does make it simple and is very easy to understand, it would be a great asset to have on your phone while you are setting up the website so you can look through the book while your doing it. Wordpress is a simple platform but in ways it is very complex too but as you work on building your website you will learn most of the things that you need to know.

For example, when you create a website you need to submit the website to search engines so their bots can crawl your website and collect the information to be able to show it on the search website. I had a great deal of success with my website even though I made it with no knowledge before hand of what I was doing. That being said I will still keep this ebook on my phone and use it every time I work on my websites, it is a treasure box of information and a valuable tool to have.

All in all this is a great beginners book for wordpress as it teaches you the basics of the wordpress platform, it can be used by anyone to set up their own website. It also explains in great detail why wordpress is the best platform to use, it is so in-depth that it sounds like an advertisement for wordpress, Godaddy and Bluehost. It is a simple tutorial that is easier to understand then any video tutorial that I have ever seen.

Wordpress A StepbyStep Beginners’ Guide to Build Your Own WordPress Website from Scratch eBook John Slavio Reviews

I decided I needed to read this book as I am not very good at using WordPress, I used to use it and have my blog on it but I moved it because I didn't find it very user-friendly. This book helped me to learn how to use the settings more efficiently and where I can go to buy more backgrounds to spruce up my blog. I may go back to word press someday but right now just reading this book and get in the information is great and how to add widgets and plug-ins. I definitely recommend this for beginners as you will learn a lot and be able to run a successful blog.
I got this free or at a reduced price in exchange for a product review this is solely my own opinion which might be different than your own opinion
Although I didn't buy this book from , I did get a coupon for a free download, and the site I got it from doesn't have anywhere to really leave comments. After reading this book, I wanted to tell others, and this was the easiest way to do so. I am not one of those people getting paid to do a lot of fake reviews. I needed to learn WordPress quickly, and this has clarified a lot of things I've been trying to learn "on-the-fly" so to speak. I guess the author wanted to do a promotion. Cool for me!

I'm a nurse by trade, but one of my hobbies has slowly, but surely, sucked me into assisting with administration of a community blog site. I had the office assistant skills, but knew NOTHING of the "backpage" workings of WordPress, or even that WordPress and SEO weren't synonymous. They're important friends - but now I REALLY understand the differences.

I've only been assisting with maintenance and editing of contributor posts for about 2 months now, and the author is correct -WordPress is very user friendly. I had literally one set of print-screens sent by the administrators to walk me through the basics of editing, but there were many fields that they told me they'd explain later, or weren't explaining the WHYs and HOWs. Now, this book is focused on a personal blog vs. a community blog, so I was very pleasantly surprised with the amount of information that is virtually identical. I only wish the author knew about the site I am a member of and administrative assistant to, so they could then make a second book about all of the plugins my Site Admin has chosen and implemented.

What I found the most impressive, is that the author takes you literally, step-by-step. He first explains the difference between WordPress.org vs. WordPress.com, and makes his recommendations but puts it in a concise format so that you can see why he would choose one site for certain situations, and the other for a different blog direction. And I UNDERSTOOD IT ALL. If he used any "geek-speak" (and yes, I mean that in the most positive way possible, as I wish I had geek talents), he immediately clarified what the terms meant. That was what actually made me think that perhaps it IS time for me to have my own blog site, after all.

Everything is written so that with each menu, then sub-menu, you have the idea of why you'd choose one or the other; when to utilize a feature, or when to worry about other things. He also recommends top free resources, as well as why certain paid services add a lot of value over the long run.

All of the options of the sub-menus are explained, either with a clear definition or an easy-to-grasp, real-world "Imagine if you were the domain name. . . and the house is the host . . . " Well, I can understand that totally!

Overall, it's well-written. It feels like a self-publish, in that it's short, sweet, and to the point, but for a tired, working adult, that's exactly what I want. I don't want an 800-page manual. I want something that I could peek at on my phone, and this would do the trick perfectly, although I read it on my laptop. -) There are some minor typos; a couple of syntax errors, but nothing so distressing that it would make you put the book aside and discount the knowledge based on the presentation. And a smaller book usually equals a smaller price - and for the price, I would NOT have regretted this at all.

The only thing lacking for me, is that he touched and briefly explained SEOs. If you want to raise your blog, you need to know SEO tips for titling your posts, metadata, keywords, and the more painful, but crucial, what-not-to-do when considering SEOs. Remember - I've only been learning this site administrator stuff for two months, so I apologize if I still sound like a boring ol' nurse. This book did help clarify a lot of things for me, in terms I could easily grasp and relate to. Nice job! Now where's the sequel? I want one with tips of the trade to raise the community blog I contribute to as well as raising my own personal site positioning if it takes off.

I should wrap this up. I want to go out and make my own blog now. I think I actually COULD, because I followed his step-driven approach, and other than the few things my current WordPress guru has manually manipulated, his book is correct, and easy to apply. If you're new to WordPress or considering your own blog, this book would be an invaluable resource.

The book started out with unproven opinions about hosting companies and software platforms. Both options are just that but are presented as fact. In my experience GoDaddy is the worst hosting company ever and Linux is not the best hosting platform. This book did not describe how to install from scratch. Just a disappointment.
This is supppsed to be for beginners? TBH, I can't get past the first page of the intro. Specifically, these sentences "A few years back, setting up your own blog was a [pain]. You needed to … upload it … to your hosting. … But today … A[a]ll you … do is install … on your hosting." Ok, how about explaining what HOSTING means? Next page; what's "SEO"?

I will give it a chance. Perhaps there's something in it that will actually teach this blog beginner.
